Gwen Edelstein, RN, PNP, MPA, Program Director

Gwen has a Master's Degree in Public Administration, is a public health nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner with extensive public health experience, specializing in maternal/child health. She was appointed as the Program's Director in 1996 and is responsible for all fiscal, personnel and administrative matters. She directs the Program's day-to-day operations, educational outreach, website development/maintenance and other special activities.

Cheryl McBride, RN, Program Manager

Cheryl is an RN with a background in critical care nursing, utilization review and case management. Since joining the Program in 1997, her duties include: crisis intervention, bereavement counseling, technical assistance/consultation and other support services. She also oversees POST, BRN and EMS accreditation; maintains/updates a compendium of SIDS resources; provides support for California's Regional SIDS Councils; and monitors local coroner offices/health jurisdictions for compliance.

Susan Moore, MA, Grief Counselor and Educator

Susan is a certified professional grief educator and is designated as a Fellow of Thanatology. She has served as a grief counseling director for over twenty years and is certified in critical incident stress management. Susan has conducted numerous workshops on suicide intervention, grief counseling and volunteer management. She utilizes her experience and expertise to conduct Peer Contact/Facilitator workshops and provide grief/bereavement training for SIDS professionals.
